Went for family lunch last Saturday at Ippudo at UE Square.
The tapas is like fusion food
More about how Ippudo started and about their noodles and soup
They were having a promotion on the tempura ebi! $10 for 5 tempura ebi prawns. The batter was done just right, and the dipping sauce was tasty
Classic Shiromaru Ramen that mum ordered
My and dad's Akamaru Ramen
Bro's Spicy special ramen.
Generous serving of pork on the side
Scallop starter
Sesame ice cream
Matcha ice cream wrapped in mochi
The noodles were okay, they didn't have the bouncy texture I was looking for that you get in usual ramen shops in Japan, and I still think Keisuke Ramen at Millenia Walk(which is now relocating) has the best ramen.
Broth was okay, relatively thick and tasty and rich.
Pork was cooked very nicely-tender and not dry.
The egg was acceptable but again not at its best.
Ordering the mochi thing was a bad idea, it tasted nothing like mochi. the description said soft and chewy but it was more like dry and hard and only a little chewy. Matcha and sesame ice cream tasted as usual..
I still prefer Keisuke over Ippudo. Keisuke totally beats Santouka and alot of the ramen places in Sg, it's the closest to those yummy ones in Japan!
