[beauty review] eyelashes and nails

Just thought I should do up a post cos I've been receiving many compliments on my eyelashes and nails and many people have asked where i get them done!

EYELASH EXTENSIONS
yvonne is extremely talented! she's my manicurist and eyelash-extension-ist(?) since September 2013 and I am only loyal to her. She runs a humble home-based salon in Jurong West and has 3 adorable kids. Her place is really cosy and for those of you worried about hygiene, fret not because yvonne is as particular about hygiene as you!

I've been getting lash-by-lash extensions done by her and it takes about 2 hours each time. cost is about SGD60. Touch-ups cost SGD25-30. Now, touch-ups does not mean redo-ing and refilling every single strand that has fallen off, touch-ups are meant for when your eyelash strands are mostly intact and you just need minor additions/readjustments.

On your first visit, Yvonne will patiently check with you what effect/outcome you are looking for and customise the lashes according to your liking. Want it so natural people can't tell? want sth K-pop with eyeliner effect? Want the lashes of the inner corner of your eye to be shorter and get longer towards the end? Thick/thin, short/long..I've never been so satisifed with my eyelash extensions, just the right thickness, starting at 9 inside and 12 at the ends..sometimes mixing with k-pop lashes to get some-but-not-too-much eyeliner effect..and it makes you look oh-so-pretty after(: I am completely in love with my lashes that makes my eyes look effortlessly beautiful without any eyeliner/mascara. completely fuss-free for those of us who like to go with as little makeup as possible. I remembered when i first used eyeliner with my extensions-I looked so glam and pretty I had to resist the urge to take selfies haha, and I couldnt stop looking at my eyes in the mirror!

MANICURE/PEDICURE
I've been getting my gel mani/pedi done at her place too. I previously bought a package at Far East Plaza, which I totally regret because they damaged my nails so badly. I now understand why some people dislike gel mani/pedi-they file your nails to remove the gel polish off when the gel remover is unable to fully remove it. That makes your nails really thin and brittle and I always wondered why my nails kept breaking! I initially went to Yvonne's place to do eyelash extensions (because then i had no idea she's a manicurist as well). She noticed my broken nails and very nicely asked what happened. I decided to try a manicure at her place and from then on, I've been hooked! I never ever have brittle/weak nails anymore because Yvonne is gentle and takes good care of my nails, even when she has to file, she does so very gently and it NEVER damages my nails. In fact, I do gel regularly now and my nails are still healthy and white (not weak and yellow). She uses good brands, is very meticulous and never does silly things like charge you for extra glitter or one additional colour or one more bling. And if you're worried you need to pay a ridiculous price to get such pampering fret not! Yvonne's charges are super duper reasonable. The manicure below: gel glitter base, heart-shaped french, bling in the centre of each nail, and one nail on each hand with disco-ball bling, costs me only $60 inclusive of trimming of cuticles, filing, shaping and buffing my nails! It is super affordable(:

Tried a simple french recently due to work:/
